We will meet with you at your convenience (we are also available for evening appointments), to discuss your ideas and answer your questions. We will determine the size and number of slabs you’ll need for your project. Whether you’re serious about getting granite countertops or if you just want to satisfy your curiosity about how much it would cost, call for your free in home estimate today.
Choosing the right slab can be a difficult decision. There is so much granite, marble, travertine, and engineered quartz from all over the world that it becomes challenging to narrow the choices down to just one or two. Sometimes you’ll see the one and just know. If you already know the type of stone that is right for you congratulations, the hard part is over. Don’t be afraid to choose a slab with more movement, after they are cut to size, they can be quite spectacular. We often get a discount as fabricators from the slab yards and then pass that savings on to you. Ask us about remnants and singles too.
Templating and slab layout-
With our years of experience, we have developed a method of making our templates for your new granite countertops without needing to completely demolish the existing ones. There’s no inconvenience of not having a kitchen for a week or more. Next, you are invited to our shop where we will have your slabs laid out to see again. We can play around with the placement of the templates and find the part of the stone that you want to be most visible in your home. After all, you’re investing good money and are probably only going to do this once.
Now it’s time for the dirty work: cutting each slab by your specifications into counters or tubs, backsplashes or high-backs, bathroom vanities or outside barbeques, niches, table tops or fireplaces, lamination of the book-matched aprons with custom colored epoxy, embedding steel rod reinforcements, sink cut outs, matching up the seams, routing the edge profile, a 10 step polishing process, trimming to the templates, cleaning and presealing. A very dirty job, but we love it.
Now it’s time to load the granite onto the trucks. The installation of your granite countertops is usually a one or two day process. We will take out the existing counters the day of or prior to the installation day. You will want to remove the contents of the lower cabinets and drawers. The 5/8 ‘’ plywood subtop goes in next, then the granite. We will hang or mount the sinks and cook top and then drill holes for faucets and fixtures. Finally, we will caulk, clean and seal the granite, and answer any final questions you may have.
